  1. (The below information was sent to my Aunt)

Amelia (Fuller) Harvey came to Canada with her young son of 9 years and her brother, Charles Travers Fuller. Her mother Charlotte Matilda (Finch) Fuller and her sister Frances Elizabeth Fuller (Gifford) are buried in the Anglican Cemetery in Cobourg, Ontario. They landed at Cobourg, Ont. about 1854. They came North to Peterborough County and settled at Clear lake where she bought property and raised horses. Sam Bryson looked after the horses and later they were married. The property went to Sam Bryson after Amelia’s death.

Joseph Charles and Anna Maria went across the lake to live in Burleigh township.

A lady and her son came by boat and stayed at the Harveys all night. She was on her way to Apsley, and Went by stage coach the next day. The boy carried Black Diphtheria germs. Three families were affected and died (Harveys 3 children, Stones 3 children and Boltons 2 children and the mother). They helped each other and that’s how it spread.

(Below is an from "Between Long Lake and Last Mountain, 1982, Friesen Printers pgs 583-585")

"Geoffrey Septimus Harvey and Etta Harvey were born, raised and married in Peterborough. In 1912 they came to Saskatchewan on a colonist train, the coaches having slatted wooden seats and stoves in the end to do a little cooking or make tea, arriving in Regina in time to see the cyclone damage. After farming in several centres the Harvey family moved to the Dr. J.A. Baughman farm in 1928, which consisted of 1,120 acres or one and three quarter sections near Last Mountain Lake, 14 miles north west of Strasbourg or 11 miles west of Duval.

Mr and Mrs. Harvey retired to Strasbourg in 1948 and now rest in Strasbourg Crescent Road Cemetery."
